Haha, Yes, I must agree. Romania! Do not be deceived by my surname my friend, my father was adopted by the Johnsons (Swedish / Norwegian? ) his original surname was Ewert. Prussian/ Lithuanian. Does this count as Romanian “similar?” Heh, no matter, we are brothers regardless, of this I am sure.

Actually, as you also, I`m pissed off and tired of realities mistifications.
After ww 2, damn russian communists (I won`t go in details about what race and nationality were comunism inventors) keep saying that “soviet scientists have invented allmost all”. This days, reading wikipedia and real books, I`m not quite surprised to hear that allmost everything infact was invented by … americans
To not be missunderstand : Is not american people`s fault. Is politicians fault.
Altough, the above video has big missings too, yet solve some things. But fail to mention first airplane ever, flying saucers, sonicity science, first drill equipment, first full city with oil public night-time lights and so on ..
Just to be clear : is not about nationalism here. I only want to make some points to be clear while romanians (as me for example) are excluded on subjective basis to can use certain facilities - including and special on internet …

I wasn’t actually aware of the fact that Romania had so many inventors , now that I know this I am in a way more proud of the country I live in .

Hey, Valentin, what a great pitch — done the American way — on the great country of Romania! Before watching that video, when someone mentioned Romania, Dracula would first come to mind, followed quickly by Nadia Comanici (WoW, look at her now: http://www.nadiacomaneci.com/), not to mention Vlad the Impaler of course. Hey, but you had the first and only Unitarian king, John Sigismund, right? At least in Transylvania. (Me being a UU, not yet Angican, I ought to visit.) But then you had that bad guy Nicolae Ceausescu and wife, but you sure took care of them in short order once to got them in your sights.

Is sad to say, but the thing have made Romania most known worldwide, Dracula (aka Vlad the Impaler, wrong) is not a romanian “thing” at all, on reality area.
Vlad, as romanian leader, was considered a blood thirsty guy, yet he was just a “normal” for those times. He had punished to death in mostly any condition, anyone was brokin the laws or was enemy of his country (or personal enemy
)
- Vald ruled in “Tara Romaneasca”, which mean, aproximately, full width of southern area (up to mountains, in north).
- Dracula the vampire is taken as to belong to Transilvania.
- It is a well known country low-class people`s saying the “this leader is a blood sucker” as to refference to very tough rulers, startin to local one up to country wide one. Refference to exploatation, “is sucking our blood” is meant to be a metaphoric way to speak about requesting more and more from lower classes.
Yes, ceauchescu was a bad guy; actually, comunist system will allways give birth to one like him or any other dictator ..
