You know whats funny, there was a Law and Order episode the other day that was about this. Some film students did a fake internet kidnapping trying to make it look real. The police got involved, and one of the fake bullets actually killed one of them, cause they didnt know what they were doing.5 days ago (10/04/07 5:30AM PST)djtacoman
I thought it was fake the minute it started. the lack of any real emotion in the guys voice and the fact that it was shot on a 3 chip mini dv camera. slight;y outdated professional equipment and shots set up using the rules of film making. If you do video for a living maybe u should find something ur good at instead.5 days ago (10/04/07 4:52AM PST)quarantine

I’m leaving a message to the people who made this video; You think you’re really clever don’t you, do you think you’re making art? Do you think that getting all the attention from this video is great? You’re f**king loosers, and complete idiots. If your friend or loved one went missing, would you make something like this the next dat? I don’t think so. Thousands of people go missing all the time, people are kidnapped, go through hell, and are murdered, and you make a game of it?! Trying to make it look real is the real point that gets to me, making it obviously fake would have made it not so bad. Go do something useful like helping people who have ACTUALLY been kidnapped. You’re a waist of space.
Luckily the film making and acting is extremely poor, so most will catch on quickly that it’s fake.
On real, when I first see the video (btw, right now is still on http://stage6.divx.com/ front page), I was surprised about how thing (mean the video) started, with a boy and a girl in a backyard, she wearing a swimsuite – sexy conotations in a “missing person” case ? More, while they were playing around, he embrace the girl, but she fail to behave as a fiancee, as a girl inloved with the guy – see the video, stright at beginning – she act more like embarassed by the hug while she should be full of pleasure … that makes me be skeptikal and digg for more info ..
Allmost 2 days later, I decided to write here about this, in a interpretable maner, so that to get some feedback – yet ONLY Aaron steped in, which means either only he readed, either he`s the only real reader here …

After a real incident that happened around here with Brooke Wilberger, 19, who was really abducted and killed at Oregon State, crap like this is not funny. How did it get on the front page of Stage 6? It actually took me a couple minutes to figure out this was a load. I guess that’s ok for a practical joke, but it isn’t a funny one.
True and correct ! Is not funny !
Anyway, let`s see what others have to say about it :

That’s like asking “Why did ‘The Blair Witch Project’ get played in theatres.” It wasn’t real, even though people thought it was. And they paid good money to see the movie, only later to be told that it was all an act.
People are abducted and killed all the time around the world. But does that make it an “untouchable” theme of entertainment? Take “GTA” off the market because it depicts gang violence? Tell the movie industry not to make any movies that may be of a “sensitive” nature to people around the world?
It is true art that allows you to feel emotion, allows you to think and look at the world around you in a different way. Some of the masterpieces of today were the scorn of yesterday. It is not those who criticize art that change the world, it is the ones who create it.
“Alternate Reality Games” are games that do not admit that they are games, hence the reason why it was never mentioned, before the creators gave into the few complainers, that it was a game. It is an interesting and fairly new genre of gameplay and I think that you should check it out sometime. Heck, you may even be motivated by one of the games that you play to get out of your seat and go outside, drive for hundreds of miles just to find a hidden clue left for you by the creators of the game. It has been known to happen.
I invite you to look at the world around you with a wide but skeptical eye. Jump into the Rabbit Hole and see where it takes you. Dare to be different then everyone else. Dare to be different then yourself, because there is no video game or movie or television show or play or concert that allows you to break into a brand new Audi A3 and steal a chip from inside, while it is still sitting at the dealers and while the world watches you via a webcam (see “Art of the Heist”).
This is the world that we players live in and it is a fascinating world.
WTF ?!?!?!
Use of a missing person case as “action theme” for a stupid game is .. ART ?!?!?!
Well, well …
What a lousy backup for a such bad joke …
This kinda shits may make people to start doubting if something is real or fake, even when sometime a real nasty thing occure …
Kidnapping, abductions, murders, violence, those and few more are not subjects for such a “jokes”, anyway not at this level – I wonder if people behind divX.com, blogspot.com and others involved, they are awared they may start loosing credibility ?
Yet, while this our world is lead by money and evilish behave, is no surprise they won`t care, there`s allways gonna be suckers to keep use and like and promote shit …
