Your Strengths – Your most powerfull ally
Today’s lesson is a combination between a task, few details and a review of previous exercise from chapter 2. Why bother to review that ? Well, I think would be obviously after you finish reding this third chapter.
The task : Highly recommended lecture, Internet Business Manifesto by Rich Schefren, click here to download for FREE.
One thing that Rich talks about is playing to your strengths.
You see, you are entering an extremely competitive market that has limitless capabilities. But if you play the game just like everybody else, you will lose to the same competition that everybody else loses to.
One big competition…
For example, let’s say there was some sort of sporting competition.
You are put up to play against Michael Jordan in a one-to-one game.
… Well ? What are your chances ?
However, you have ONE advantage – you get to choose WHAT sport you will play.
Would you choose basketball? Of course not! (except if you happen to be an NBA player and think you can win) You would choose a sport that YOU are good at !!!
The same goes with Internet Marketing. If you walk in and think that you are going to simply do exactly what everybody else does and succeed, you will most likely not succeed.
Ask yourself one simple question:
“What is ONE great strength that I have that I can bring to [insert your market here] that would allow me to be heard and seen?”
Maybe you have a gift for art. Perhaps you are extremely creative. Maybe you are a great speaker.
Wherever your strength(s) lie, you need to tap into them.
For example, I know that I am good at public speaking. While I can write a decent email, I find that I am effective when speaking with others and not just typing to them.
I could say to myself: “That has no application to the Internet!”
Very wrong. How that ? Well .. How about holding teleseminars ? Posting audio and/or video to my websites ? So . got my point ?
Your Strengths Are Your Secret Weapons
Stop thinking about your weaknesses. Stop focusing on them. If there is something that you don’t know how to do or you know or feel you are not very good at, then you may anytime hire somebody else to do it.
Start concentrating on what you are good at. Still don’t know what that is ?
Then go back and complete the exercise from chapter 2. Trust me, it will make all the difference.
EVERYBODY has at least one strength, regardless age. We are born with them, they are part of us.
Finding what that is and tapping into it will allow you to enter a market where there are already businesses established and thrive alongside them.
(Why do I say “a market where there are already businesses established” ? Because if there is nobody making business allready into a certain market, mean that market is dead or does not worth try it. We estabilished that allready in chapter one, remember ?)
So, if you haven’t finished the Niche Marketing Exercise from chapter 2, go now and finish it.
If you think you finished, go and review it if what you have there is about and related to THE MOST powerfull of your strenght
In chapter 4 we will talk about how to research the niche markets that you identified, in order to see if they are potentially profitable.
Until then…
Matthew Glanfield and Valentin Hornicar

Your Strengths Are Your Secret Weapons
“Stop thinking about your weaknesses. Stop focusing on them. If there is something that you don’t know how to do or you know or feel you are not very good at, then you may anytime hire somebody else to do it.”
Thanks for this very valuable tip about thriving in the business. I am new here and I greatly appreciate the tip. Amateurs like me truly need such tips as what you shared.
“Finding what that is and tapping into it will allow you to enter a market where there are already businesses established and thrive alongside them.”
True, it’s so hard for a newcomer to exist and thrive in any business. And it doesn’t pay much to just go with the flow. It’s important that one must have his own strategies to be successful in the business.
Well, think things like this:
There is a proverb saying “if you can not defeat an enemy, make him your ally”. Adapting this to your question, I have 2 options for you:
- if you can not peroduce good enough website design, hire a designer.
- if you can not deal website design and you are not able to effort to hire a webdesigner, find one to be your partner.
Anyway, during the process of becoming a better marketer – entrepreneur, you’ll find that OUTSOURCING is a must …
Stop focusing on your weaknesses and concetrate on your strength! This is the best advice I stumbled upon. But honestly, how could I compensate for my weaknesses? I have difficulty dealing with website design. Do I have to hire someone to do the job?
thanks vey much…
