advertising revealed (part two)
So, I said few words about what and how are ads in previous post.
I`ll start this second part with an example about use of “persuade” method.
Most probably I would of look for something more soft, while this one was allready covered by, yet I was stoned about the guy reaction (see his comment)…
=============================================
“Quick and Easy Way to Get Thousands of Extra Visitors a Month”
WOW !
I`ll pass that is used the “gurus” style of write nouns with capital letters. Ok, is a title .. I`ll pass ..
But what is said there ?
“Quick and Easy Way to Get Thousands of Extra Visitors a Month” but the link of page is “use-alt-text-for-images.php”.
Yet, who watch the link address as reliable info about page content ? Huh ?
Anyway, article is targeted, thru title content, to point out a reliable method to grab NEW visitors-traffic.
Presented as something that really works and - as “persuade” advertising technique - forcing webmasters and blogs/sites owners to spend time reading.
Yet is nothing new, nothing about “tousends” new visitors, not a link promoting technique, not even about new visitors (is 99.99% more about few-sometime-maybe HITS).
Is, as “explained” in page link, about use of alt tag for images.
Alt tag IS NOT MEANT TO GRAB visitors. Is a html BASIC rule, that browser would have to be able to show something if picture can`t be printed on screen.
And, scuze me if I wrong, but …
And really, if you’re using WordPress to power your blog, there’s just no excuse. When you click on the little tree picture to include an image in your post, a little input box pops up that looks a lot like this:
What is shown in that article is on right part of bellow pic. The left part is how WORDPRESS upload picture interface looks like in MY wp 2.2, and same was on previous versions I saw or use …

hehe ..
You know, above example of “persuade” advertising is somewhere on the edge, maybe a bit controversial, yet is “with both legs” in the backyard of hype-woodden language at least.
Title is the one who`ll make one to read the stuff in an article, isn`t it so ?
This title drive you to think is building traffic article. And it is .. not.
And there you have it, a quick and easy way you can attract hundreds, if not thousands more visitors to your site a month.
May be easy way to RESPECT W3C requirements.
May be easy way to reach to have pictures on google image search.
May be a realy usefull tip to expose your pictures to be hotlinked (and pay for others`s traffic) and/or to be stolen-unauthorized use.
May be a way to get some HITS on your pages.
But will not give you READERS, USERS, RETURNING VISITORS. Anyway not tousends.
And is not a SEO nor traffic source, is a MUST BE html stuff.
And is not QUICK. May take weeks-months to get a image indexed.

Conclusion for this specific issue :
Alt text for image tags is NOT a method to grab FAST AND LARGE traffic and is not search engine optimisation tip.
Articles`s title are in fact (ab)use of hype words to lead to use of holes in certain people`s knowledge.
====================================================
Use of “persuade” technique to advertise-promote is a imoral act toward others and also is a very used way to misslead peoples.
Is a “guru” technique to grab attention and produce false expert image.

Yeah, when you write about “how to easily get thousands of visitors” I hope to learn something more than basic html…
